The 25th Anniversary of the Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) was April 15-18, 2019. The appreciation week was developed by the Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
There are three categories for the award – large, 500 or more employees; medium, 150-500 employees; and small, 150 or fewer employees. To qualify for the nomination, the business had to demonstrate years of economic growth in the community, as well as a commitment to workforce excellence.
SMI Composites is honored to have been nominated for the award in the small, 150 or fewer employees, and will continue to partner with Athens Technical College in various programs to assist in the continued growth of SMI, our employees, and our community.
